Seminar Overview
This two-day online training is for those working with or who would like to work with this community. Common health and mental health issues and disparities will be reviewed to enhance understanding of stressors and social pressures impacting these clients. Expansion, performance work, Advanced Induced Gazespots, OCD and Compulsive Behavior set-ups will be utilized.
Prerequisites: Phase 1 Brainspotting Training
Techniques taught with PowerPoint lecture, discussion with Q & A, demonstrations and practicums ONLINE ZOOM format
Seminar Objectives
Through lecture, live demonstration and small group practice participants will learn to do the following:
- Health and Mental Health issues and disparities frequently experienced by LGBTQIA+ clients
- Definitions of Minority stress, Microaggression, Religious trauma and Intersectionality and their impact on these clients
- What creates resiliency in this community
- Review the Brainspotting Uncertainty Principle, Neuroexperimental Frame and Dual Attunement and how these concepts apply to working with these clients.
- How to use Expansion Brainspotting and its use in Gender Affirmation and Transcendence work
- How to use Advanced Induced Brainspotting and Performance Enhancement with coming out and other issues.
Dr Frey’s OCD setup and use with compulsive behaviors and issues specific to this population.
Schedule
The training opens ON-LINE at at 8:30 am on the first day.
From 9 am – 6 pm on the second day.

About the Trainers
I am pleased to co-teach this LGBTQIA+ Training with Cindy Smith, LCSW.
Pie Frey, PsyD. is a Psychotherapist in private practice in Boulder, Colorado. She has worked in mental health settings, adolescent treatment programs and private practice since 1982. Dr. Frey works with adolescents and adults. Specialties include working with all types of trauma, including childhood trauma; sexual abuse; addictions, mood and anxiety disorders; traumatic brain injuries; and trans-generational issues. She also has expertise working with performance enhancement, mind-body issues and spirituality. She has developed a Brainspotting protocol for relieving obsessive-compulsive symptoms. Dr Frey provides Brainspotting, Therapy, Training and professional Consultation.
She developed the bilateral music company, BODIHTREE Bilateral, in 2013. Clients include Adolescents and adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, traumatic brain injury symptoms, relationship issues and issues associated with having or questioning a lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or inter-sexed plus identity. Cindy specializes in performance enhancement for sports, business, performing arts and creativity and provides Therapy, Training and Consultation.
